 RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HER HUSBAND, MR. CHARLES W. FETNER, FOR HIS WORK AS A
 COMMUNITY AND CIVIC LEADER INCLUDING SERVICE ON THE FOREST ACRES CITY COUNCIL
 FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS, AND TO WISH THEM THE VERY BEST IN THEIR RETIREMENT.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MRS. VIOLET W. FETNER FOR HER EXEMPLARY CAREER AS AN EMPLOYEE WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR UPON HER RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HER HUSBAND, MR. CHARLES W. FETNER, FOR HIS WORK AS A COMMUNITY AND CIVIC LEADER INCLUDING SERVICE ON THE FOREST ACRES CITY COUNCIL FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS, AND TO WISH THEM THE VERY BEST IN THEIR RETIREMENT.

Whereas, Mrs. Violet W. Fetner retired this year from the United States Department of Interior - Geological Survey, and from the time she joined the Geological Survey in 1982 she was known and widely respected for her excellent skills as an editor and writer and for her warm and friendly demeanor; and

Whereas, her husband, Charles W. Fetner retired in the early 1990's from his association with the Sherwin Williams Paint Company where he worked for over forty years, and he continues to be very involved in civic, church, and community endeavors and for over twenty years served with distinction on the Forest Acres City Council; and

Whereas, Mr. and Mrs. Fetner are natives of Columbia, have lived in Forest Acres for over forty years, and are active and faithful members of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church; and

Whereas, in addition to their successful careers in government and business and as public-spirited citizens, they are the parents of four children and seven wonderful grandchildren; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate these two outstanding South Carolinians for all they have done to make their community a better place to live and work and wish them the very best in their retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly hereby commend Mrs. Violet W. Fetner for her exemplary career as an employee with the United States Department of Interior upon her retirement and commend her husband, Mr. Charles W. Fetner, for his work as a community and civic leader including service on the Forest Acres City Council for over twenty years, and further wish them the very best in their retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Fetner.
