Summary: Vehicle Protection Product Act
    A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY DESIGNATING SECTIONS 38-78-10 THROUGH 38-78-120 AS ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 78, TITLE 38, ENTITLED "GENERAL PROVISIONS"; AND BY ADDING ARTICLE 3 TO CHAPTER 78, TITLE 38 SO AS TO ENACT THE "VEHICLE PROTECTION PRODUCT ACT", TO PROVIDE FOR DEFINITIONS, TO REQUIRE THE REGULATION OF VEHICLE PROTECTION PRODUCT WARRANTIES, TO REQUIRE A VEHICLE PROTECTION PRODUCT WARRANTY TO ADHERE TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 3, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF INSURANCE TO IMPOSE CIVIL PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF ARTICLE 3.
