    AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 44-7-170, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO INSTITUTIONS AND TRANSACTIONS EXEMPT FROM THE STATE CERTIFICATION OF NEED AND HEALTH FACILITY LICENSURE ACT, SO AS TO REVISE THE EXEMPTION FOR OFFICES OF LICENSED PRIVATE PRACTITIONERS AND REQUIRE THAT A LICENSED PRIVATE PRACTITIONER OBTAIN A CERTIFICATE OF NEED FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL BEFORE UNDERTAKING CONSTRUCTION OR ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW HEALTH CARE FACILITY OR ACQUIRING CERTAIN MEDICAL EQUIPMENT USED FOR DIAGNOSIS OR TREATMENT. - ratified title
