A Bill to amend Section 44-77-20, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the definitions pertaining to the Death with Dignity Act, so as to revise the definitions of "life-sustaining procedures" and "terminal condition"; Section 44-77-40, as amended, relating to the validity of a death with dignity declaration, so as to delete the requirement that an accompanying affidavit to a declaration must be subscribed and sworn to by the two witnesses in the declarant's presence; Section 44-77-50, as amended, relating to the form of a declaration, so as to provide for the appointment of an agent, revise the language pertaining to the revocation of a declaration, and provide for specific directions in a declaration; and Section 44-77-80, as amended, relating to the revocation of a declaration, so as to provide for revocation by a declarant's agent instead of designee.
