    A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION TO REQUEST THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO ESTABLISH A PURPLE HEART HIGHWAY AS A MEANS OF HONORING COMBAT-WOUNDED VETERANS WHO ARE RECIPIENTS OF THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL, TO ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS TO INDICATE THIS, AND TO REQUEST THE GOVERNOR OF THIS STATE TO ISSUE A PROCLAMATION ESTABLISHING THE PURPLE HEART HIGHWAY ON FEBRUARY 22, 2000, AND DIRECTING THE ASSISTANCE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS, THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, AND OTHER STATE AGENCIES AS MAY BE IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN THE DEDICATION AND ESTABLISHMENT OF THE HIGHWAY.
