The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Nahum 1:7: "The Lord is good, a stronghold in a day of trouble; He protects those who take refuge in Him, even in a rushing flood."
Let us pray. Lord, we give You thanks that You protect us from harm and danger. You are our stronghold and deliver us from trouble. Take care of these Representatives and staff as they strive to do what is best for the people of this State. Guide them in times of stress and strife and comfort them as they serve. Bless our Nation, State, and all our leaders. Give them strength, courage and integrity in their duties. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
