The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Exodus 4:20: "Moses carried the staff of God in his hand."
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank You for sending these people and giving them wisdom and courage to do the work of the people. Bless them with Your power, as You have given them the staff of leadership. Continue Your blessings on our Nation, State, and her leaders. Give them Your power, and protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
